Carpet Care & Warranty

At Babyloni Limited, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products. That’s why we offer the following warranty for our hand-made silk rugs purchased through our site.

Warranty Coverage:

  • For a period of 3 months from the date of delivery, our hand-made silk carpets will conform to the description provided on our site and will be of satisfactory quality.
  • Our hand-made silk rugs will be reasonably fit for the purposes for which products of that kind are commonly supplied.
  • The warranty covers all parts and labour, excluding collection and redelivery charges.

Warranty Exclusions:

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Any defects caused by accidental damage, such as broken glass or cracked mirrored surfaces, while the products are in your possession.

Common examples of improper care for silk carpets include:

  1. Exposure to Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure can cause colours to fade and fibres to become brittle and dry.
  2. Incorrect Cleaning Methods: Harsh chemicals or scrubbing too aggressively can damage the delicate fibres.
  3. Improper Storage: Storing in damp or humid conditions can lead to mould or mildew growth, permanently damaging the fibres.
  4. Ignoring Spills and Stains: Allowing spills to set can cause permanent discolouration and fibre damage.
  5. Neglecting Vacuuming: Failure to vacuum regularly can result in dirt and dust causing long-term damage.

To maintain the appearance, durability, and overall value of a silk carpet, it is important to follow the proper care and maintenance guidelines.

Additional Care Requirements:

  • Rug Rotation: It is essential to regularly rotate the rug to ensure even wear and maintain its beauty. This helps prevent uneven fading or damage to the fibres.
  • Cleaning Methods: You must be extremely careful when selecting cleaning methods. We recommend that you do thorough research before cleaning the rug and preferably contact us for advice. If you choose to have your rug cleaned by another firm and they damage it, we will not accept the rug back for a warranty claim.
  • Vacuuming: You can vacuum the rug; however, ensure that the vacuum cleaner’s nozzle does not leave any creases or impressions in the rug, as this can cause permanent damage. We will not accept rugs with such damage caused by improper vacuuming.

Return & Warranty Claim Conditions:

  • Contact Before Return: Returns will not be initiated unless you contact us before the end of the warranty period. We will then review your case.
  • Condition of Return: We will only accept returns of rugs that are in impeccable condition as we sent them. Accidental damage by the customer is not covered.
  • Claim Process:
    • To make a warranty claim, please contact us via our contact form, email, or postal letter.
    • Provide proof of purchase (invoice, payment confirmation, and/or certificate of ownership).
    • Include a detailed description of the damages or reason for the return, accompanied by coloured pictures (10-15 images and/or a video) showing every angle and detail of the rug before postage.
    • Failure to follow care instructions will void the warranty.

Warranty Conditions:

  • This warranty is governed by UK Law.
  • Warranty is valid overseas with the same conditions as in the UK, unless otherwise stated on our website or via communication at the time of purchase.
  • Warranty claims will be resolved within 7 to 14 days.
  • The warranty is only valid for the original buyer. Failure to prove being the original purchaser will result in the warranty being void.

Warranty Acknowledgment Clause:

By purchasing a rug from Babyloni Limited, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in our warranty policy. You agree to follow the care and maintenance instructions for the rug and understand that failure to do so may void the warranty. You also acknowledge that you will not initiate a return or warranty claim unless you contact us within the warranty period, and that the rug must be returned in its original condition.
